About this book
Beginning Android Tablet Programmingstarts off by showing how to get your system ready for Android tablet programming. You won't need any previous Android experience, because you'll learn all about the basic structure of an Android program and how the Android operating system works-and then you'll learn how to write your first Android tablet application from scratch! Beginning Android Tablet Programmingthen equips you to build a set of interesting and fully-working Android tablet applications. These projects will give you the inspiration and insights to build your own Android programs in the future. You'll be introduced to 2D programming, and you'll see what you can do with a touch screen interface and the Honeycomb SDK. Of course, 3D programming is even more alluring for many programmers. If that includes you, you'll learn about how Honeycomb has changed the game for Android graphics programming, and get your first taste of 3D programming on an Android tablet. Lights, camera, action! You'll learn along the way how Android Honeycomb gives you access, through your programming, to all those interesting sensors that tablet computers are equipped with today-beyond the touch screen itself. You'll learn, for example, how you to use a tablet GPS sensor to locate your car! You'll also discover how you can access files on your tablet-or on the web-through programming, and then build on that insight to create your own file browser application. This Android project contains many useful coding techniques appropriate for many situations you might encounter in your future programming Android tablet applications; you'll be glad to have them under your belt. Great tablet for the price

It works as well as I expected. I bought it to take notes on during class and to go through powerpoint presentations. It is a bit on the slow side, especially if there are too many background apps running. The weight is a bit more then I expected, but what bothers me the most is the power and volume buttons being located on the backside. It feels great when in one hand naked but the buttons are difficult to access with a case on it.Considering all of that, I still think that this is great device. There isn't too much bloatware to slow it down and the battery life is acceptable. If it broke I would buy another one in a heartbeat.UPDATE (9/1/15) - ] I was trying out a couple of different launchers and after I deleted the ones I decided not to use it has speed up a bit. As long as the applications running in the background are limited it seems to work fine. Perfection

I bought this tablet at my local Target store on the 30th of June and let me say, this is the best tablet I ever had. It's super light and easy to use. The front and back camera are great to take selfies and pictures and it's great for taking videos. The Skype is great as well. I am a teenager myself and I am using it for school and personal stuff. I use the Google Chrome for web browsing and it's really fast. Downloading apps is fast as well as opening and running them. I have downloaded the CM Security from the Google Play Store for free and I run it once a day and it always says it's safe. I also downloaded the CleanMaster app and clean it after I'm done using it and it helps deletes the junk files and makes the device run even faster.A couple of my relatives have both the iPad and the iPad Mini, but when I tried both of them myself, nothing compares to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. The iPad Mini is a little bigger than this and a little lighter, but from what I... 5/5 Melissa M. Amazing quality and performance at a very good price point!

Customer Video Review Length:: 9:48 MinsUpdate September 8, 2014:About 6 weeks ago I started having issues charging the Samsung tablet. A red x appeared over the battery symbol and the tablet appeared to be charging but very slowly. This red x means that the tablet is plugged into a computer and exchanging data but in reality it was plugged into the Samsung AC wall charger using their cable.I tried another Micro USB charging cable and it worked fine but not every time. I was worried that the charging port on the tablet was going bad. I take excellent care of my smart devices and I wanted to find out what the issue was. I contacted Samsung support using the on line message support system. It took about an hour to convince Samsung that the cable was bad and perhaps the AC wall charger. They shipped me a new AC wall charger and the cable. I tried only the cable by itself first and it has worked perfectly every time I haved plugged it in for three weeks. I wanted to... 5/5 JJCEO (Greenwood, Indiana) - See all my reviews, May 3, 2014

The BEST of Galaxy Tab 4 series - BEST Pixel density of all

Samsung has done it again. They are releasing tablets at very periodic intervals. Samsung's fourth generation of Galaxy Tab series is as expected and for this price point phenomenal. I have been using Galaxy Tab 2 and 3 and I am very much impressed with Galaxy line of devices. I got to play with all of the three Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series for few days. I like them that I am getting all three and selling last year’s model. First, if you have not had any tablets before, Get THIS! Yes, Get this 7". It is ideal for plane trips, long journeys. I had used a 7" Tablet on a long journey to listen to songs and read epub books (Aldiko) and it was a very pleasant experience. 7" form factor is lightweight, compact and great. If you are a bit experienced and can afford it, I highly recommend the 8". In my opinion 8" is the maximum value for the money and features, but 7” has the best pixel density of all three Galaxy 4 series. If you are just starting out 7”... 5/5 rpv (California) - See all my reviews, May 1, 2014

I got the for the basic stuff, entertainment games, quickly checking things on the net (email, searching, etc.), and watching videos during down time. What works for me with this tablet is native support for Google play, and Amazon App store installed and worked without consequence. Haven't found app I use regularly that won't work with this tablet. On the first charge, I got a couple days use before needing to charge again. Mostly gaming, internet browsing use. I keep screen brightness low and that helped with battery life. I like that I have Bluetooth on a budget tablet like this, some selling at 2-3 times the price don't even have it. NeuTab 7" Android Tablet: A First Look/ Critical Review

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:46 Mins First, as someone who owns 4 other tablets, I think it's extremely important to look at this (and other tablets) from an objective place.I know that there are some people who feel disappointed from a spec and performance standpoint from this tablet but I think we should measure this against what it's selling for. Let's not have unrealistic expectations here. This is a $50 tablet. Don't expect the Windows of Heaven to open for 50 bucks. My best and favorite tablet at the moment is my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2/ International version which cost $730 from an importer about 8 months agoI don't (and didn't) expect this basic/ starter tablet to compete with Samsung or any of the others that I have that costs several hundred dollars more. You get what you pay for. But, for $50, you're actually getting a pretty good tablet that will suit someone's needs.***The NeuTab (2015)... 4/5 Andre Lawrence (Miami, Florida) - See all my reviews, May 27, 2015

Judge YE Not! But you will anyway..

Judge me if you want. I’m a top reviewer with roughly 10 tablets in my home. I get offered to write reviews that are fair and unbiased. This should mean that you can trust that I have a large pool of data to compare against because of my ability to test far more tablets than the average consumer. However, competition and distrust brew rampant among both Amazon reviewers and readers. Reviewers think others are puffing up products in order to get more. I’m 29 with 2 day jobs and one budding business. I don’t do this for the free stuff. I like writing and I like reviewing. My reviews are unbiased. If you follow me you will note that I take the time to review these products. Impressive performance for a budget tablet

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:38 MinsFor this review, I'm keeping in mind that this is a budget tablet and is not expected to have the performance and specs of a higher-end device. Compared to some of the Android budget tablets I've used in the past (such as the HP 7 Plus), I feel this tablet deserves 5 out of 5 stars. If you're comparing this to something like the iPad Mini, you may find this KingPad rates closer to a 4 out of 5 stars.PROs+ Quad Core Processor: I despise a laggy interface, so I'm happy to see that the KingPad comes with a quad-core processor. It may not be top-of-the-line, but I found general web surfing and app loading to be surprisingly good. Some games do run choppier than they would on other tablets, but the Subway Surfers game showed in my video performed very well.+ 8GB of storage: This refers to how many apps, photos, videos, and music files you can store directly on the tablet. If that's not enough space, you can expand the... 5/5 Ryan (USA) - See all my reviews, June 21, 2015

Perfect budget friendly tablet, don't have your expectations set too high and you will like it!

Bought this for my mother who is in her mid 50's, average technology user, not unfamiliar with tablets. This tablet is perfect for her, she wanted a bigger tablet something well over 7" and under $100 with the ability to mainly browse online, stream movies and music efficiently. This tablet genuinely surprised me with how good it is for only $65. While she was at work I charged it up, loaded it with the typical apps (Netflix, pandora, YouTube, chrome, angry birds, etc.) and used it exclusively all day to see how it would perform. As a family of four, and with a computer engineer husband, we have a lot of tablets and devices around our house...desktops, laptops, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, 2nd gen iPad, iPod touch, iPhones 4, 5s, 6plus, dell tablet, and a Microsoft surface. So, that's why I was genuinely surprised with how well this tablet performed. It is definitely not as "sexy" or fast as any of the devices we own but I didn't expect it to be, it's a tablet and gets the job... 5/5 Fontenot Family "Primer11" (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) As a family of four, and with a computer engineer husband, we have a lot of tablets and devices around our house...desktops, laptops, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, 2nd gen iPad, iPod touch, iPhones 4, 5s, 6plus, dell tablet, and a Microsoft surface. So, that's why I was genuinely surprised with how well this tablet performed. It is definitely not as "sexy" or fast as any of the devices we own but I didn't expect it to be, it's a tablet and gets the job...

One of the best budget freindly tablets with a few minor oversites.

0 4/5 Sargent - See all my reviews This review is from: ASUS ZENPAD Z170C-A1-BK 7" 16 GB Tablet (Personal Computers) Just purchased one for my son who was replacing his Hisense Sero 8 which mysteriously quit charging and is now a paperweight. This tablet is made by a reputable company who is know for having solid products where they got there start back in the late 90's and 2000's.This is a budget table with a few extra perks. The screen is very vivid and clear. It handles task very well with the quad core processor. It does lack slightly in the memory department and playing any labor intensive games, you do see some slight lag (although it is minimal). My major gripe is the lack of a decent rear facing camera. The pictures are of fair quality in daylight settings. Pictures taken in any other setting are pretty grainy and unclear. All in all I'm happy with the purchase, I wish they would have taken the time/enegry to polish a few of the cheaper aspects out. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 1, 2015

    Perfect for kids

0 5/5 liserbiser - See all my reviews This review is from: ASUS ZENPAD Z170C-A1-BK 7" 16 GB Tablet (Personal Computers) This is a great tablet for the price. We got it mostly for our kids, and they can play away on it without us worrying. We got a good case and screen protector for it, and that has helped with durability. We have had some problems with the charger connection staying good, but I think part of that problem is that it's been dropped a couple times and the charger yanked out. But the company fixed the unit twice, free of charge, because it is under warranty. So, excellent customer service, good memory and app capacity, at this price, I'd highly recommend. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 26, 2015
