About this book
Beginning Android Tablet Programmingstarts off by showing how to get your system ready for Android tablet programming. These projects will give you the inspiration and insights to build your own Android programs in the future. If that includes you, you'll learn about how Honeycomb has changed the game for Android graphics programming, and get your first taste of 3D programming on an Android tablet. Lights, camera, action! You'll learn along the way how Android Honeycomb gives you access, through your programming, to all those interesting sensors that tablet computers are equipped with today-beyond the touch screen itself. You'll learn, for example, how you to use a tablet GPS sensor to locate your car! You'll also discover how you can access files on your tablet-or on the web-through programming, and then build on that insight to create your own file browser application. This Android project contains many useful coding techniques appropriate for many situations you might encounter in your future programming Android tablet applications; you'll be glad to have them under your belt. I bought a generic tablet back before tablets were really popular. It was android 1.5 and no upgrades were really feasible. I used it and loved it. But finally decided to replace it. So I did lots of research and found that tablets are all over the charts these days from reasonably priced to extreme. I read the specs on this tablet and it was a story of sounding a little too good to be true. But I took a gamble based on the low price and I bought. I will say I couldn't be happier. Everything works. Browsing the web is just like a pc speedwise. The Googleplay store works like a champ. I love the voice active search. I can speak what I want it to look for and it finds it. I have used this many more times that I ever thought I would. And this wasn't even listed on the features for the product listing so I consider it a bonus. My wife and I raced to see who could lookup a listing of songs by an old band we remembered. She on her laptop and I on my tablet. A really good tablet

After being pleased with a Coby Kyros Mid 7122 and later being disappointed after buying a Coby Kyros MID 7042, I decided to give a shot to another budget tablet company that I haven't heard of. In fact, I'm not even sure what the name of the Tablet is other than an A13 tablet.I have to say...I'm more than pleased with my purchase. Now, onto my review-Appearance/Design-The first thing I noticed about this tablet is the fact that it's really thin. Not paper thin or anything, but comparable to Razr products being that it's about a centimeter in thickness. The colors are quite typical of budget tablets; it has a dark gray finish with black trim around the screen. One thing I wasn't too crazy about because I'm so used to my budget tablets being Coby Kyros design, would be that the inputs are in awkward spots. For example, the AC power jack input it located at the very top of the tablet as is the USB input. As I do with all gifts for him, I opened it to test it out and set it up. Let me begin by saying, this tablet exceeded my expectations. For $55, you can beat the specs. It has a dual-core 1.5GHz processor whereas most tablets in this price range have a 1.2GHz single-core processor. It also has a dedicated GPU which helps gaming and video performance. I tested some 1080P HD files (in MKV format loaded on an external SD card) and they played flawlessly on the native video player. No lag or stuttering and the audio was in sync! I also played Angry Birds, Temple Run 2, and Clash of Clans which all ran without lag! I added my dad's Comcast e-mail to the built-in email app and there were no issues with syncing, not that there should've been. The screen also beats other tablets in this price range by far. Outstanding tablet for the money

I had been on the lookout for an inexpensive Android tablet for a while when I learned about the Quantum Axis A23, a 7″, dual core, dual camera model with 512MB of DDR3 RAM.To be honest, the low $55 price tag concerned me a bit, but since I had heard good things about it I thought I’d give it a try.The very first thing I noticed when I picked it up for the first time was how well built this tablet is. I expected a tablet that costs so little to feel cheep and fragile, but the feel of this Axis A23 is neither. The attractive molded plastic case firmly holds the screen in place with no bending or cracking sounds.I was a little disappointed that the set-up instructions said to let the battery charge for a whopping 24 hours before powering the tablet up for the first time, but I can tell you that the wait was worth it. Amazing quality and performance at a very good price point!

Customer Video Review Length:: 9:48 MinsI own a lot of different tablets but this is my first Samsung and let me say that I am impressed. I went to the store to buy a 7 inch unit but quickly decided to upgrade to the 8 inch version. There were several features that I was concerned about and the 8 inch unit just fit my needs better.* Larger screen size for reading* More basic internal memory at 16 GIG versus 8 GIG for the 7 inch unit* The ability to upgrade to a 64 GIG SD card instead of just 32 GIGJust remember that in my experience your need for more memory grows as you use your tablet more and if you buy a smaller memory upgrade capability you may regret it. The price difference on launch day was only $40 more. I already own 8 tablets in my family so my experience has proven this need for more memory. As you add more books and more apps the memory slowly gets eaten up. The BEST of Galaxy Tab 4 series - BEST Pixel density of all

Samsung has done it again. They are releasing tablets at very periodic intervals. Samsung's fourth generation of Galaxy Tab series is as expected and for this price point phenomenal. I have been using Galaxy Tab 2 and 3 and I am very much impressed with Galaxy line of devices. I got to play with all of the three Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 series for few days. I like them that I am getting all three and selling last year’s model. First, if you have not had any tablets before, Get THIS! Yes, Get this 7". It is ideal for plane trips, long journeys. I had used a 7" Tablet on a long journey to listen to songs and read epub books (Aldiko) and it was a very pleasant experience. 7" form factor is lightweight, compact and great. If you are a bit experienced and can afford it, I highly recommend the 8". In my opinion 8" is the maximum value for the money and features, but 7” has the best pixel density of all three Galaxy 4 series. If you are just starting out 7”... 5/5 rpv (California) - See all my reviews, May 1, 2014

    Nice form-factor tablet

I've used more than my fair share of 7" tablets, which I consider to be the ideal size. Larger ones (which I have also owned and used) tend to be a bit too clunky for my tastes. If I'm going to carry around a 10" tablet, I figure I might as well just bring an ultrabook instead- the added weight is worth the extra power, storage, and keyboard. I know some other folks love their iPad/Surface/Transformer/whatever though, so to each their own. If you're looking at this, you're probably someone who tends to agree with me. If not, you're probably looking at the wrong product.First things first: this is not the cheapest tablet out there for the given specs, nor is it anywhere near the most powerful 7" tablet around. The Galaxy Tab 7 series, to be frank, has never scored high marks in either category- focusing more on packaging and reliability. You can get an ASUS MeMo Pad HD for about half the price as this unit, with very similar specs. You can also get a 2nd gen Nexus 7 for a... 5/5 Yu-Jin Chia "Yu-Jin Chia" (San Jose, CA USA) - See all my reviews, May 12, 2014

This review is from: Pyle Astro PTBL92BC Android 9-Inch Bluetooth Digital Touch-Screen 3D Graphics Wi-Fi Tablet (Personal Computers) I purchased this for my granddaughter for Christmas and it worked slow, but ok for 1 week. It froze on the Android loading logo, and would go no further. I notified Pyle tech support, who said to return it to the seller. They were great. I returned it and they sent me a new replacement in 5 days. I opened the new one, charged it, turned it on, touched the unlock. Unreal! The touch screen did not respond. I reread the user's manual, restarted it, reset it and still, no response. I called Pyle tech support again and they told me to tape a note on it ( so none else received it as a replacement), and to return it once again. They came through with flying colors on my 2nd return. This time I chose a full refund, and I am looking for a different tablet. Not only were the Pyle tablets bad, their tech support and service were also. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 7, 2014

So far there hasn't been any kind of issues with using this tablet. We were able to set things up really easily and add apps with no difficulty. The only thing it that it can take awhile to charge it but otherwise it is a perfect fit.
